Gossip Girl Series

So who here has actually read the series?

I started reading the series only after watching the show. I managed to read the whole series plus the prequel in less than two weeks. The book sucked compared to the show, lol. what are your thoughts?

I started reading 2 years ago, I saw the first book name and I was like "awww that kinda fits me" xD (the first book name's "It feels so good to be bad" but in portuguese xD) and I bought. then I started loving it and spreading to my bestfriends. and now I'll start reading the nº5

about the characters.... hm. bit different from what i thought in my head.

yeah they are all so wierd, chuck is totally different, vanessa's bald, jenny has super huge boobs, lol

yes LOL i love the style V has on the books, when I saw her I was like WTH!

edit : && I thought that Chuck was this REALLY UGLY guy, you know, one of that guy's that's really disgusting just looking at them and only had dates because he was rich.

looking back at the description of the books, none of the actors really fit the mold, but since i read the books after the show all i could was picture blake as serena, ed as chuck, leighton as blair, and so on

but if i had never seen the show i seriously don't know if i would have liked it as much

well to me Blair and Serena kinda fit on the book, Nate... hm.... The look Chace has does, but the storyline... no way =| and that's another things, the storyline of the books and the series are very... twisted I'd like to see, for once, a show based on a book that actually fits the storyline of the book

My best friend is supposed to be buying these for me soon so hopefully I'll get to read...

I've heard from everybody that the only thing the characters share in the book and show is their names. LOL One thing I can't wait to read about in the books is Blair's disease. I really think the show needs to delve more in-depth into that topic. They just showed it on one episode and let it drop with only a few other references.

I've never read the series. I've tried to stay clear of teen fiction. Watching the show is purely accidental, I swear.

ahah you should read it! it's really good to know all te little things that the show doens't let us know. like, for example, remember when Nae broke up with Blair and then tried to get back with her? And showed her a llittle golden heart on his sleeve ? That was a big thing for Blair, a REALLY big thing on the books, and on the show... they only made one close up and puff. gone.

I read on Wikipedia (I think) that Chuck is bi in the books. How would you guys feel if the show followed the books in this respect?

LOL only if it was with Nate :3 LOL jk. well I wouldn't mind seeing Ed with another guy.

Its not only the characters that are different its everything as a fan of the book it really upsets me to see
all these twists that have been thrown into the show for example chuck and blair WTF.... Rufus and Lily... Vaness and Nate... I dunno I like the show and everything but its like they stole the book idea and the name but didnt keep to the story at ALL...

That's kind of the point, though, right? I mean, it's only supposed to be based on the books, not a visual representation of them. I like that they took the characters and made them their own.

Plus, if it was the same as the books, no one would watch it! *why watch it when you know how it ends?*

I read the first book, and was mildly disappointed. Nothing much happens,really.

ahah chuck that is not true, twilight is a book and everyone knows how it ends and they still love the movie I'd watch it and I think I'd like it more if it was like the books. oh well, not the CB thing, because as I only read 4 I don't know if they get together there too but, at least serena should be some drop dead gorgeous (i don't think blake is that pretty so... ) and you know what? I actually loved Vanessa in the books. and I can't stand her on the tv LOL

True, but it's a movie. Imagine investing 20+ hours of your life into a show when you already know how it's gonna end.
